Catapult Advises Media General on Sale of Blockdot

PR Log (Press Release) — Jan. 21, 2013 — SAN FRANCISCO, California, Jan. 21/Catapult Advisors LLC announced today that it advised Media General on the sale of its Blockdot division.

Blockdot, based in Dallas, Texas is an interactive studio focused on delivering mobile games and applications that enable forward-thinking brands to deepen bonds with their customers and prospects.

The Blockdot acquisition is a critical step in the buyer’s strategy of expanding in the US by opening regional offices in cities with exceptional technical and creative talent.

Following the Blockdot sale and the sale of their newspaper business to Berkshire Hathaway in 2012, Media General is now able to focus 100% of its efforts on its core broadcast business.

“We couldn’t have asked for a more capable and experienced advisory firm,’ said Jason McMinn, co-founder of Blockdot. “ Throughout the process, the Catapult team was relentless in their pursuit of the best deal possible for Media General, the Blockdot team and our customers.  There is tremendous excitement about what the two companies will be able to accomplish together.“
