Significance

  • Cash proceeds used by SPL to fund growth prior to sale to Oracle in 2006.
  • SSA’s unique identity search and match technology valued as a way to improve synching accuracy and efficiency for enterprise and government customers.
  • Intellisync gained access to over 500 blue chip customers including AT&T, Barclays, VISA and GE Capital.

Catapult’s role

  • Overcame obstacles associated with SSA being based in Australia.
  • Managed the natural tension that often exists between division management and parent management in divestiture situations.
  • Exposed the opportunity to a large list of financial and strategic buyers before consummating the transaction with Intellisync.

“We retained Catapult to help us position the sale of our SearchSoftwareAmerica division as well as to quickly determine if the inbound M&A interest received from Intellisync could be leveraged with other strategic buyers. Catapult was a quick study on our business and was able to provide us with a very good feel for the market and valuable advice for maximizing valuation.”

Richard Zolezzi, SVP and General Counsel, SPL WorldGroup
